Intresting Weekend!

So I had so much going on this weekend! My husband and I went to Walmart on Sunday, and found some abandoned kittens! One of the garden ladies had found two the day before, and we found two that day. I really don't understand how people can just drop off a baby animal, and just act like they'll be okay!? So needless to say, we took them home. They're so sweet, and my youngest, Kai, can't keep himself away from them. Jimmy just keeps talking about how we need to get rid of them, but isn't doing anything to find them homes, so I'm not sure that they won't be with us for a while.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend!

BBQ: I Give You Five Stars!

So yesterday, we had a BBQ, and both of Jimmy's (my husband) sisters and their families were here. In my town, the fireworks are set off at the river, and since we live a block or two away, we just watch from our backyard.

So my baby loves to BBQ, so he ended up going crazy yesterday! He made brats, hotdogs, burgers, steaks, and I slaved over boiling some corn on the cob. I feel like I'm leaving something out....oh well! It was also kind of a get together, because of his youngest sister getting married I think last Thursday or Friday, I can't remember the exact day. As it was, of course, my honey out did himself, everything tasted great, from what people said. The new brother-in-law even had 3rds, I'm just a steak girl, so I just had the steak and corn (yum!).

I hope everyone had a great time! I just hope that now that that's over, they put out the back to school lists!

SO HAPPY!

I just found out today that my state insurance covers full med., dental, and vision! As I said in my last post, I'm prego w/ the 4th child, and lets face it, having babies reeks havoc on a woman's body. Anyways, I was just so thrilled, I had to shout it from the rooftops!

On a different note, my oldest son Angel was on Skype talking to his dad, and neither one of us knew how to make the sound work (and yes it was on ;-P). Does anyone know how to rectify that?

I know I'm going to hate that I have to go to the store tomorrow, because we all love having to stand in line for an hour trying to checkout. If you're one of the many people that will be BBQing tomorrow, and aren't exactly sure what you want to make, here are some suggestions!

KABOBS
------------
Cubed steak or chicken (make sure the chicken has already been precooked in a skillet)
Red and, or green bell peppers
Potatoes
Onions (optional)

Season w/ salt or celery salt, black pepper, and any of your other favorite seasonings. If you choose to do chicken, when precooking in skillet, sprinkle w/ ground ginger as it keeps chicken from drying out. If steak, use a little meat tenderizer to keep it from getting tough. Make an average of 2 per person.

STEAKS
-----------
If you're a steak lover as I am, this is pretty easy! Just grab your favorite cut of steak, and season w/ salt or celery salt, pepper, meat tenderizer, and a pinch of garlic. As you're cooking that to the desirable temp., have a skillet of red and green peppers, and onions going. If you want your peppers and onions to stay crisp, use in dry skillet; as for sauteed, put a little butter in skillet. You can serve w/ baked potatoes, salad, baked beans, or whatever you love! I personally enjoy this w/ potato or egg salad....yummy yummy!

Have a fun day, and I'll probably write a post of what I made for everyone.

Getting to Know Me

I wouldn't waste my time going to the "About Me" link, because there's a whole lot of nothing on there. Basically, I have 3 kid's and one on the way, and a great husband who spoils me. I wanted to write this blog for mothers who might need a little help along the way. As mothers, we're stretched thin, and are usually so consumed w/taking care of everyone else, that we kind of fall by the wayside.
I'll be writing about my family experiences (would love to hear about yours), and help w/any questions you might have, cause lets face it, sometimes it's nice to know what's worked for others! I'll also help w/meals that don't have you in the kitchen for hours, and little pampering tips for yourself.
Make sure you follow my blog, and I can't wait to hear from you!
